Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, hands down. I love a peaceful morning planning the busy day ahead with an hot cup of coffee & healthy breakfast. These cookies are a great way to start the day full of energy because they include five different biologic cereals, cocoa, lots of fiber, low fat and no sugar (have you never heard about “stevia?”). Cocoa, one of nature’s many miracles, is in fact an huge super-food that many people seek, also makes other so-called super-fruits pale in comparison, is a titan of health benefits. It’s rich in agents that enhance the production of various feel-good chemicals in the brain, notably as serotonin and dopamine. This means that cocoa possesses anti-depressant, mood-elevating properties. Nothing new to the any millions of people who self medicate with chocolate every day because cocoa contains, in fact, over 700 known compounds but there are of these many more that remain undiscovered. Particular interest to scientists are the antioxidant properties in cocoa, for exemple special interest to health researchers are flavanols in cocoa, including flavan-3-ols, catechins, epicatechins and proanthocyanidins. These naturally-occurring substances not only protect the cells of our bodies from premature desease, but they also help to reduce the risk of killer diseases.
To cook these cookies mixes 100 gr (3,5 Oz.) of oatmeal, 70 gr (2,4 Oz.) of quinoa flour, 70 gr (2,4 Oz.) wholemeal rye flour, 70 gr (2,5 Oz.) of barley flour, 70 gr (2,5 Oz.) of oat flour, 60 gr (2,1 Oz.) of cocoa powder, 100 gr (3,5 Oz.) of stevia powder and half a bag of baking powder. Add four eggs and 100 gr (3,5 Oz.) of hydrogenate fat-free margarine. Knead and create cookies and bake them at 180°C (356.00° F) for ten minutes.
Oh, i can’t forget about the coffee, no breakfast of mine is complete without a hot cup of coffee and a big glass of water!
